2016 Fall Events Trip

About this time last year I embarked on the “Fall Three Week Swing.”  I spend two weeks in North Carolina attending the American Adventurist Appalachian Rendezvous and Overland Expo East followed by a weekend in New England attending the Vermont Overland Rally.

One of these days I’ll get a new rear window…
… or switch to a soft-top…
… or both.

This year the trip will be a little shorter.  The date for this year’s VOR was moved and scheduled the same weekend as the Rendezvous.  I hemmed and hawed for a while debating about what event I was going to go to.  Long story short, I opted to make it easy on myself and just do two weeks in NC for both the Rendezvous and Expo.

The plan is to leave Wednesday morning and stop part way down and camp over night.  Last year I made the trip in one shot but, although I’m sure I could do the same this year, I’m opting to take things a little slower this time around.

I wonder what people will think of the trailer as an “upgrade” to the tent.

That said, make sure to follow the ECOA Instagram feed and the ECOA Facebook page for updates.  Won’t be another blog post till after I’m back and have time to do a detailed trip report.
