The ECOA blog is back… sort of. Still a few things that need tweaked (mostly cosmetic stuff), but for the most part the site should be working. You’ll also notice a few new secotions.
First, new for the second half of 2019 is a revival of the Patron Support Team. This will go a long way in ensuring the lights stay on for the blog as well as help develop some of the new services offered by ECOA. In the past ECOA has used crowdfunding on a per-project basis. However, as things have grown over the past few years a monthly patron system makes more sense. Perks will include things like free copies of ECOA publications like the No Highways Tour book series, percentage off merchandise like patches, and a percentage off of training events like the Overland Skills Weekend. Being a patron is also a way to pay it forward and ensure ECOA is present to provide training at events where we aren’t financially compensated. Most importantly it’s a way to stay in touch. As social media becomes more unreliable the monthly patron newsletter will be the best way to stay in touch with ECOA and make sure you don’t miss out on any content or events. Visit the ECOA Patreon Page for details.
Also new for the second half of 2019 is the Echoes of Adventure Podcast presented by L.T. Wright Knives. This podcast is going to be a look back at the memorable experiences that have shaped us to be the people we are now. It will also be a look at why we do some of the things we do. The goal is to have a mix of adventurers both from the overland adventure lifestyle as well as the outdoor adventure lifestyle. Luckily the two overlap nicely and for me they are often one in the same. Look for the first episode later this week.
Thank you all for your patience during this brief time of transition. I also hope you’re as excited as I am for the future of ECOA, the new podcast, and the upcoming training opportunities!
